The issue
The equipment didn’t work when the user received it. Since it was under guarantee the manufacturer had to pay for the repairs. However, the equipment passed all the quality controlled before being sent, so the issues must have happened between the manufacturing and when the client started using it.

Visibility
By attaching a Monoceros SmartM device on each equipment, the company was able to monitor the physical integrity and whereabout of each equipment, from its manufacturing, through months of storage, all the way to the client unpacking, anywhere on earth.

Thanks to this live view, The company knew before it was too late if an event was damaging the quality of the equipment. This information allowed the company to take preemptive actions before it damaged the equipment.

For example, once the equipment was stored in warehouse with no humidity control. However, the humidity level was about to breach the threshold, risking creating corrosion. Thanks to the live alerts they were able to warn the client to check the item in storage.

How do I setup the itinerary and what happens if it changes?When the monitored package / product / asset / item / shipment needs to be moved, the itinerary can be either specified on the platform, or through the REST API. Some information of the delivery may be modified when it’s active. But, to protect the data integrity, key information would require creating a new delivery.

Why a monthly subscription?And since the number of devices your need can vary from one month to another, we decided to give you the flexibility of a monthly subscription.

Do I need to invest in an infrastructure to make it work?Our devices are directly connected to the internet. Hence, no additional infrastructure is needed for the system to work. It works everywhere out of the box.

Is it a price per tracker?You have different pricing options depending on the number of trackers you need and the forecasted length of usage.

What happens to the device at the end of the monitoring?When the monitoring is over, the device can either be reused to monitor another object or sent back.

How do you automatically start / end the monitoring of a delivery?During the setup of the system to your use case your Monoceros representative will study all the steps that can be automatized. After this onboarding phase, the system will be optimized to your specific needs in order to, among others, automatically detect the start and end of each monitoring. Hence, no specific training will be required for the people on the field to make the system work. The system is plug-and-play and ready to be deployed at large scale.

How do the alerts work?All the alerts are set-up through the platform or the API. Different choice of alerts can be selected for each object, delivery or organization.

How do you collect data?The smart-trackers work autonomously and are constantly connected to the internet. Hence, the data are always accessible though the Monoceros platform or the API.

How do you modify the sensors’ parameters?Most of the parameters are simply updated through the platform or API. But some of the parameters require to contact you Monoceros’ sales representative.

How are the data protected?Monoceros follows a secure-by-design approach to data protection to minimize the risks of cyber-attacks on the trackers.

Who has access to the collected data?To access the data from a tracker, the user must have an account on the monoceros platform and must have been invited by the admin of the organization to see the data from this corresponding tracker.
